Day 11: GQ Baby

Okay, I'm totally counting this as today's pic, even though it was shot just after midnight. By like, 10 minutes, is all. Noah woke up (which he rarely does) right around 11:45 apparently starving, and so I got him up and gave him a bottle, then changed his diaper. We ran out of our regular Huggies, which I've been anticipating, anxious to open the box of Huggies Jeans diapers I bought on clearance back when he was a newborn! I bought them in size 3 so they're perfect for him now! I quickly got out the camera and snapped some pics before putting his jammies back on him and taking him back to bed! (He wasn't exactly thrilled with this arrangement - he just wanted to go back to bed..)

I did take other pics today, but I wasn't in love with them.. they were kind of boring.. So that's why I'm totally counting this one as today's pic! Also.. I went a little crazy with editing - is it to bright or contrast-ey to you? (ps: contrast-ey is totally a word.)

Day 10: Cabbage Patch

On our way out the door as we headed to Grandma & Grandpa's so they could watch the kids for an hour this evening, I stopped to snap a pic of Noah because I thought he looked like a little Cabbage Patch Kid with his binky and his little hood on! Haha!

Day 9: Injured Soldier

Please excuse the grainy photo - our living room is so dark! And I wanted to try some more shots out in manual without flash!

A couple weeks ago Noah was still rolling around the living room as his only means of self-propelled transportation. Slowly he began to use his arms to inch himself forward, and just this last week he mastered the art of the Injured Soldier Army Crawl. He only uses half his body to move himself. As you can see in this pic, he's about to reach forward with his left arm and kick himself ahead with his left knee. Yesterday he would only use his right arm/knee. As a friend said the other day, it IS army crawl - he just got shot on one side and so he has to drag his other limbs behind him like dead weight! Haha!

Day 8: Pete the Woodworker

Here's where Peter spent a bunch of time this past December making Emily's kitchen. Tonight he was out there cutting pieces of wood because I guess he feels bad enough for his dog that he decided to build him a little house so he can keep out of the cold. Haha!

Day 7: I Almost Cried.

So, I've been having a struggle lately with keeping the kitchen/living/dining room (and, let's face it, the whole house) clean, especially since Noah was born. I mean, I'll admit it: I'm lazy and lack motivation a lot of time, but there are other factors. This week I hit my limit - the house has been falling down around us since Christmas and I couldn't handle it anymore. All week I did what I could but felt like I'd take one step forward and then two steps back. Yesterday I started to make some progress, and today I got my kitchen totally scrubbed spotless. But then there was still the living room and dining areas (among other places, obviously. Oh, and laundry like you wouldn't believe). I mean, it's just too much sometimes. Yikes.

So aaaaanyway, this background story was all leading up to my pic.. Tonight Peter and I went out with some friends and my amazing friend Martha came to watch our kids. Emily loves her and so does Noah, and she's so great with them. So anyway, we went on our date and came home.. and my living room is now the cleanest it's been in days, and get this - she folded a TON of laundry. It looks amazing. I seriously got a little choked up. Martha is amazing. I love her. Best end-of-date gift EVER.

Day 6: Tricky, Tricky Mama

Noah continues to refuse anything but sweet, fruity foods. Well, I'm cheap. Er, frugal. And I bought all that baby food on sale at Babies R Us on Black Friday. And I do NOT want it to go to waste. So today I had a clever idea. I mixed 1 jar of pears with 1/2 jar of peas and brown rice. Warmed it in the microwave, stirred it in really well - and Noah gobbled it all up! He never even suspected that there were peas (gag) or brown rice (double gag) mixed in with his sweet, delectable pears! I'm so tricky!!
