Day 101: Emy's Mah-tha

Martha came over this afternoon for a short visit and the kids were so excited to see her! Emily calls her "my Emy Mah-tha." Haha! They loved having her babysit them this weekend! They just attacked her when she came today - it was adorable!

Day 100: Home again!

We actually got home late Saturday night, but Peter's parents kept the kids over night and took them to church today. We didn't see them until 2pm! I was excited to see my babies again, and they were all over me and Peter! It was fun to get away, but we were glad to be home, too!

Day 99: Happy 5th!!

We celebrated our 5th anniversary (which was actually Thursday the 7th) by doing a session at the Oakland temple where we got married! It was a gorgeous day, and a great way to commemorate the last five years we've spent together!

Day 98: Slow start...

We went away for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary.. but not after having to jump start our car! We were all set to go, Martha was taking the kids for a walk so we could leave without them freaking out, put the key in the car, and it wouldn't start! Haha. We got it started, though, and made it to our destination safely without the battery dying any more, but what a crazy start to our trip!

Day 97: I think I have a problem...

So... I love Starburst jelly beans. I buy them during Easter season every year. And I was just thinking the other day, "they should make these in all the Starburst flavors." Well.. they DO! So.. I bought them. All. Haha!! I don't think I need to buy any more of them now. We have enough!

Day 96: Just Like Mama

I've been crocheting a lot lately. I finished Emily's dress (except for adding the ribbon and ironing it a little bit so the bottom stops curling up), made some crocheted roses for the waistband and a headband, and now started another project because my hands didn't know what to do with themselves anymore. Emily's obviously noticed my new obsession. She picked up a bit of fuzzy yarn I used in our Easter decorations, grabbed a big crochet hook, and sat down to "crochet" this afternoon. She told me she was making a dress for me! lol! "I making a dress for YOU Mama!" Haha! She was pretty good and jabbing the hook in and out of her ball of yarn! So very clever, Emily!

Day 95: Little Messmaker

I found Noah in the play room today standing up at the cube organizer, just reaching into the bins and chucking stuff on the ground. He didn't even look at the toys as they came out - just chucked them to the floor and reached in for another! So funny! When I first walked in on him, he gave me a look like, "uh oh, I've been caught!"

Day 94: My old-fashioned boy

I finally got some pictures of Noah in his blessing gown.. I love the high chair in the mustard field! But.. the light was not the greatest this time of day, and Noah was super grumpy, so not a lot of the pics turned out.. I want to try again this weekend if the sun comes back out.. I need some good ones of him wearing it!

Day 93: Pants on your head..

I'm pretty certain that there's a picture of me at about Noah's age wearing very similar headgear. LOL. Peter did it - he called them bunny ears to Emily and she thought it was awesome. I also love how Noah's going to town on Emily's milk sippy. lol.

Day 92: Potty Party

Potty Fail. We attempted potty training this weekend since we'd be home watching General Conference for two days straight. We learned that Emily's still not ready. She'll sit on the potty for HOURS, can pull her underpants (or as she calls them, wonderpants) up and down by herself, but she never does ANYthing on the potty. And so we'll wait a few more months and try again. She doesn't seem to mind that she's in diapers again. And I don't mind so much either.

Day 91: Light It Up Blue!!

We bought 20 more blue light bulbs for World Autism Awareness Day today and handed them out to total strangers so they could join us and shine a light on autism this weekend! The kids looked adorable in their blue outfits - especially Noah and those SHOES!! And the plaid shirt? LOVE it! Oh, and Emily looks cute too. LOL. Go to our family blog to read more about it, or to my sister's blog to read about our sweet nephew Grant!

Day 90: Burned..

Stupid new oven. It's a great oven, don't get me wrong. I'm just figuring it out, though, know what I mean? I feel like I finally had the oven at the old house mastered.. So anyway, I baked these cupcakes to give as visiting teaching treats today and didn't realize that the rack was too low, so by the time they'd cooked for 18 minutes (the box said to bake for 20-25) the bottoms of all the cupcakes were burned. Almost halfway up the cup. Stupid, stupid, stupid. So I gave kitchen towels and cake mix as VT treats instead. LOL.
